SUMMARY:Don't Tell My Parents About This Show\, Harvey Tolentino Doniego Solo Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:If you are reading this\, you have been invited into Harvey Tolentino Doniego’s secret life. \nThis exhibition gathers cherished memories and moments of liminality—their thoughts\, prayers\, hopes\, and desires. Some of these parts were never meant to be seen\, or at least not by those who raised them to imagine something different. In sharing them\, they ask for quiet understanding. What exists within this space is held between the work and its viewer. \nThis exhibition is an acknowledgment of who they have become—in spite of\, because of\, and inspired by their parents. Artery is a space transformed for hidden fragments of the self to exist freely\, without apology. \nAt its core\, the work introduces their evolving “Q’we’re theory”—an ongoing body of exhibition and prose reflecting on the liminality\, complexity\, and community of being queer. Once a word used to mark the othered\,odd and alternative queer is reclaimed here as campy\, creative and community. \nViewers are invited to perceive differently\, to engage with empathy\, and to embrace curiosity and intuition—both within yourselves and in relation to others. Enjoy curiously. \nNow Showing at the Artery (844A Princess Street) April 9-May 9\, 2026. Hours are 10am-4pm MON-FRI (closed noon-1pm). Opening Reception and Artist Talk April 18th 3-6pm. Vendor Market & Photobooth May 9th 3-6pm

SUMMARY:TALK series: Sex Work 101
DESCRIPTION:In this talk\, Christina Lea Gilchrist and Joni-Lee Aikens will discuss how Canadian law puts sex workers at risk and how it increases the negative stigma we face. We will also be covering harm reduction practices specific to the sex work industry that we would like to see implemented in the KFL&A region. Come learn from sex workers with lived experience on how to be a good ally. \nHeathcare workers interested in harm reduction are excitedly encouraged to attend! \nBy contrast\, if you are planning to attend as any kind of peace officer\, we respectfully ask you to e-mail Trellis to request this specific topic at your organization’s location — so we can better address the needs of your staff — and in the interest of prioritizing the comfort of any sex workers in the audience. Thank you for understanding.
